Lucky for me, access to an early digital copy of the movie on Vudu.com meant we'd have it in hand right in time for my littlest superheroes birthday sleepover a.k.a. Halloween. Yep, premo timing. The preparation for a webhead-worthy bash was on!
Tooling around Walmart, I found Spidey hanging out everywhere...it's like Spidey-fandom-nirvana there, seriously...
Even found our friendly web-crawler on the boxes of the Marketside Pizza I picked up to feed our tween crowd.
(Word around NYC is that Walmart will soon be releasing Amazing Spider-Man themed Augmented Reality triggers on the pizza boxes and display pallet that will work in conjunction with an App in-store for some truly amazing effects- along the lines of the Avengers Augmented Reality App released earlier this year.)
Sufficed to say, I had little problems finding all the party goodness I could gather.
To add a few personal touches, I created a spider-themed birthday poster board for the guests to sign as a keepsake and some cool cupcakes any human spider would appreciate.
Our esteemed celebrity guest dropped in to oversee the festivities...
And with that, the party was on! Want to catch the undivided interest of a tween? Serve up pizza and the promise of a Spider-Man movie... just say'n...
And Spidey style cupcakes work wonders, too...
The guests filled out their wishes of Spidey-good-cheer...
With great parties, comes great responsibility. The best thing about having The Amazing Spider-Man for our party before it hit the store shelves:
a) my son's friends, well, pardon the really super-obvious pun, were amazed!
b) it fueled our inner web-slinging-geek to have access to film we knew we'd love ahead of time. It's as if you've reached the unreachable...
and c) due to weather conditions, Halloween activities were cancelled so we certainly had the coolest event in in the neighborhood.
