I guess it ages me slightly to recall devouring the pages of PEOPLE Magazine in the 80's, but I've always been a sucker for the lure of movie celeb gossip and coverage of red carpet fashions.  Even have a few old back issues I've preserved that featured (no suprise) Star Wars gossip.

It's a visual-entertaining-indulgent thrill to catch up what's happening in your favorite celeb's life, mentally rating who wore the best dress to the latest award ceremony or movie premiere (and often wondering "what the heck were they thinking when they put that garb on? Maybe time to find a new stylist!)

Reading PEOPLE Magazine is simply a guilty, enjoyable pleasure that provide a welcome, momentary "la-la land" distraction from a busy day... and often a lot of eye-candy, to boot. Like the PEOPLE Magazine's Annual Sexiest Man Alive issue.

I'm always jazzed to see a superhero figure (or, okay an actor who has played a superhero) figure hit the cover, or sci-fi, or naturally any movie character I think is worthy of a total "hottie" award. Rooting for them is just plain, harmless fun.

In recent years, it's made me smile when actors like Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) and George Clooney (Batman) made the cover.  The one that really made my day, and and issue I kept (again, no surprise) is when Harrison Ford (Han Solo/Indiana Jones) made the cut as top eye-candy dog.


In lieu of the amazing array of superheroes to hit the screen this year, there's certainly a huge pool to pick from (from the Avengers, movie alone!)

And least we forget one of the super-sexiest villians who deserves an honorable mention, Tom Hiddleston (Loki)

The PEOPLE Magazine's Annual Sexiest Man Alive issue hits newsstands November 15.  Who do you think will win?  Will you choose one of the heroes above or would you toss another name into the mix?
