On The Second Day of Nerd Book Giving...

My (most excellent) Comic Book Friends suggested to me:

Two Super Cool Audio Books on CD

In Karen Traviss's Halo: Glasslands , The Covenant has collapsed after a long, brutal war that saw billions slaughtered on Earth and her colonies. For the first time in decades, however, peace finally seems possible. But though the fighting's stopped, the war is far from over: it's just gone underground.

(Though little Halo fans will like it, they won't "get it" as well as the tween/teen crowd.)

In Julie Cross' Tempest: A Novel , the year is 2009. Nineteen-year-old Jackson Meyer is a normal guy… he’s in college, has a girlfriend… and he can travel back through time. But it’s not like the movies – nothing changes in the present after his jumps, there’s no space-time continuum issues or broken flux capacitors – it’s just harmless fun... or is it?

(Though it's geared towards the teen crowd, you'll likely borrow and enjoy. Gotta love dual purpose gift.)
