Nickelodeon has green-lighted a slew of new programs and movie features including a Nick At Night premiere (10/6) "See Dad Run" starring Scott Baio as a famous former TV dad who lands his newest role as a stay-at-home father.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reemerge on Nickelodeon (9/29) in an all-new, CG-animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, blasting off with a one hour special. This totally gnarly pizza-fiable series stars Jason Biggs (American Pie) as “Leonardo,” Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings) as “Raphael,” Rob Paulsen (Planet Sheen) as “Donatello” and Greg Cipes (Teen Titans) as “Michelangelo.”
iCarly fans (though the program is fairly recent, it's still highly iconic) will also be happy to know that several spin-offs are on the Nickelodeon slate, too. In Gibby (Nickelodeon pilot/working title) Noah Munck reprises his role as, of course, Gibby and in Sam & Cat (Nickelodeon pilot/working title) Sam Puckett (Jennette McCurdy) and daffy Cat Valentine (Ariana Grande) become best buddies and unlikely roommates.
iCarly’s Jerry Trainor also finds a new gig with Wendell and Vinnie (Nick at Nite series) where he finds a fairly familiar role as an uncle who becomes guardian to his 12-year-old nephew.
Other goodies include Monsters vs. Aliens (Nickelodeon series) which is an extension of the movie, featuring all your favorite monsters and a whole new group of nefarious aliens living and working together at Area 50-something. And a currently production the works Swindle (Nickelodeon movie/working title) promises an impressive ensemble cast of Nickelodeon stars to delight us in the film based on a popular children’s book by Gordon Korman.
So, thanks to Nick, this fall, you can expect to kick back with your kiddos and party like it's 1999... or '89... or even '77 (when Baio first appeared on Happy Days.) It's like tubular, groovy, and all that...
