Wolverine, Batman, Laura Croft, or Chewabacca - Who's Worth More?

Wolverine XMen Black Leather Costume
July 28-31 in Los Angeles, superhero and sci-fi memorabilia from the esteemed Dreier Collection will face off in auction.

They may have never met on the big screen, but their costumes will duke it out for bidder's attention. Wolverine's black leather X-men battle suit is expected to fetch $30,000 - $50,000 and Batman's costume from "Batman Returns" (worn by Michael Keaton) is also estimated to bring in between $30K - $50K.

Who will claim costume auction glory?  Which suit would you bid on?

It may be that Superman trumps all with an iconic hero costumes from "Superman: The Movie" (worn by Christopher Reeve) estimated to fetch $60K – $80K.

Other items up for grabs are the Peter Mayhew original Chewbacca head from "Star Wars" (estimated $60K - $80K,)  a complete Cylon costume from "Battlestar Galactica" (estimated $40K – $60K,) and a  Lara Croft jacket (worn by Angelina Jolie) from "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life" which carries an estimated $2K – $3K price tag.

From the looks of things, this will be an epic auction attracting the hardest of hardcore collectors out for the day.  The four day "Treasures from the Hollywood Vaults" auction is run by Joe Maddalena (Profiles in History.)

Peter Mayhew original Chewbacca head from Star Wars
All right, so if I had the money, the Chewbacca head would be an awesome piece of movie history to own (or for a little less, I could bid on a Stormtrooper tour costume - also up for auction- estimated at $6K,) but honestly, any one of these would be amazing to see up close, let alone own.

You can catch the action as Joe digs up these cool finds on one of my favorite channels Syfy or check out deets on the webpage http://www.profilesinhistory.com/
