"Why I Love To Read" | Young Readers Essay Contest

If you've been hanging around Comic Book Mom long enough, you know we are huge supporters of public libraries and literacy efforts. So naturally, we're squeaky-happy to share information about the exciting Country Inns & Suites essay contest to support September’s National Literacy Month, in partnership with Random House.

An extension of Country’s support for literacy at their Read It and Return It book-lending library (an exclusive amenity located at every Country hotel property for all guests’ use), the “Why I Love to Read” programs allows children (with the help of Mom and Dad) to craft an essay on why they enjoy reading, with the chance to win books for a year.

Did you "hear" that?  Books for a year.  It's like book-worm-nerd-with-glasses nirvana... for me, at least... for your child, it will still be the bomb-diggity-dig of very cool things to happen to them this year.

The overall goal of the program is to create awareness for National Literacy Month, as well as support and encourage literacy. A donation of books will also be provided to First Book, an NPO dedicated to helping children achieve success.

Involvement starts at https://www.whyilovetoread.com/  So, get to it!
