Ripley's - Dare To Look!

Ripley's new Believe It or Not: Dare To Look

I'll be the first to admit some of the stuff in Ripley's new Believe It or Not: Dare To Look! freaks me out.  Um, nose plugs, blood feasts and ant bridges?  Total "eww gross" factor.

My sons (10 and 12,) on the other hand, absolutely love every fascinating and warped detail. In truth, this book is full of fascinating facts, myths, and crazy-cool stuff that would snag the attention of any pre-teen, teen, or adults.

The entertainment doesn't stop in the book.  Readers also have the ability to access exclusive bonus content through the Scan function of the Ripley's Believe It or Not! app. Watching Puggy, a Pekingese with a remarkably long tongue, lap up ice cream is wildly-weird giggle-worthy and adds a whole new level of intrigue to this astonishing book.

Dare to Look! is chock full of true-yet-unbelievable facts including perilous near-miss accidents, extreme daredevils, unbelievable artwork, fantastic sports feats and a whole lot more.  Despite being freaked out by some of the content, the fascinating pages still draw me in.  I mean, really, where else can you learn about Kelvin Mercado's record-breaking feat of pinning 161 clothes pegs to his face (crafters, don't try that at home, k?) or Farmer Hung and his traffic-stopping herd of 5,000 ducks?

Chapter include Animals, World, Body, Sports, Popular Culture, Transport, Digital, Art, Food, Feats and Beyond Belief.  The book really has a little bit of everything to fulfill any curiosity.  Overall, it's an enjoyable read and the interactive features make it a truly wonder-filled, engaging experience.

Trying to get a finicky reader interested in books?  This one will do the trick!  Also, would make a great gift for the holidays.
