Scenic Adventures in Space at the Griffith Observatory

On our recent trip to visit relatives in the L.A. area, I made it a goal to visit the renovated Griffith Observatory.  Drawn by the promise of an unparalleled view of Los Angeles and state-of-the-art, immersive planetarium, what we encountered was an awe-inspiring adventure and a fabulous space on space that one could easily get lost in.  And besides, you gotta love a place that has a food spot called the "Cafe at the End of the Universe."

We all enjoyed the visit immensely, despite the long(but scenic) walk uphill in 90+ degree temps, and my youngest son truly blossomed when the universe opened up and he began to understand what lies beyond our little planet.

If you are in the Los Angeles area anytime soon, I highly recommend a visit.  There are plenty of picnic spots and trails in the surrounding Griffith Park, too, so you can easily spend the day hiking or hanging out and enjoying all the gorgeous views.

Holding Los Angeles in the palm of his hand! :)
