Yes, we have Hunger Games but where's Black Widow Barbie?

Capitalizing on pop culture is one of Barbie's many claims to fame, so naturally a Hunger Games Katniss Barbie was released this month.

Yet with the surge of superhero interest on the market, we have yet to see a Black Widow Barbie emerging, though, or any other new superhero dolls in the 2012 lineup.

It's been several years since Barbie released icons like Wonder Woman and Bat Girl, so hopefully, there's a few in the works.  (If not, listen up Mattel, we Comic Book Moms need our dose of fantasy figures to keep play time in order in our homes, or to add to our ever-growing collections of comic book paraphernalia.)

In the meantime, enjoy the visuals of some of the Barbies we are a little bit excited about like the Empress of the Aliens Barbie Doll slated for June.  She's pretty bad-a.

No, we will not feature the Twilight Saga Barbies.  Sorry, nope, a pasty-lookin' Ken doll will not make it onto Comic Book mom pages (sorry Twilight lovers, the doll is just not sparkly enough for us.)

Really all I have for ya is the Empress, so we'll pick a few lovely from past releases.
