The Ultimate Gift for Old-School Gamers #ClassicArcade

Dream Arcade
I spent a good deal of time during my high school years at the corner arcade.  Though pocket-change poor, I did manage to knock the high score on Elevator Action and could play a mean game of Frogger and Asteroids. Video games have evolved in mind-boggling ways since then, my heart still skips a nostalgic blip of love every time I spot an old-school game box.

So you could color me Inky and slap me some Clyde when I stumbled upon Dream Arcades, who are none other than the world's largest manufacturer and distributor of arcade machines for the home or office. (I'd totally love to work in their office!) These are the real deal, too, loaded with the actual games that were played in the arcades, not fake reproductions Talk about the ultimate gift for an old-school gamer...

No quarters required, but you will have to shell out a little of the big dough to grab your dream arcade.  Surprisingly, thought this is certainly a high end gift in the gift-giving department, the price for a pre-built Caberet Dreamcade with 145 games pre-loaded is a little over $2K, making it highly affordable for office play and reasonably obtainable by the average home user.

You can even go bigger with machines sporting 29-inch screens or buy snagging a 4-player Cocktail Arcade for family and party play. Additional games can be added to each machine by purchasing additional titles in “packs” including classics from Midway Games (including Mortal Kombat) and Taito Games (including Space Invaders and Jungle Hunt). Players can also add classics such as Q*BERT and Golden Tee Golf.

So, in other words, after grabbing one of these pups, you may just never leave the house again.  Just say'n...

And now you know what to get Comic Book Mom for Valentines Day, or whenever... I can wait until my birthday.  My birthday's good...
