It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like An Appalachian Toy Run

Founded in 2010, the Comic Book Moms Toy Run is now a yearly event. Each holiday season, we outreach to vendors who are willing to help deliver smiles by providing toys for Appalachian Kentucky Christmas trees.

Donation from Safari has arrived! These will truly inspire the "joy of play!"  

This year, we are blessed to find a good friend in Safari Ltd., who in conjunction with our Toy It Forward efforts, helped us collect over 500 toys, books and games to distribute to charities in three of the most impoverished communities in Kentucky.

One of our stops is particularly in great need as the original charity building, including all of the donation materials inside, were destroyed this spring by a round of devastating tornadoes that hit Eastern Kentucky.  Thanks to the generosity to many caring people, the doors of The Open Door were reopened and I'm thrilled that we will be able to play a part in helping this charity replenish and rejoice this holiday season!
